Food gives us a reason to write! Magazines give us a reason to write! Songs give us a reason to write!
In this twice-a-week course, campers will take a deep dive into their understanding of writing for a specific purpose. Each week will focus on a genre of writing that lends itself to a professional career. Your camper will have the opportunity to wear the hat of a food critic, a magazine reporter, a song writer, a poet and many more.
At the beginning of each week, students will learn about a specific type of writing, interviewing professionals in the field via Zoom calls, and delving into examples of that type of writing. During the second session of the week, children will practice writing their own genre-specific pieces with support from Alex.
