Ages 5-9

In this class, children will carefully study their identity as well as the identity of others. They will examine their physical characteristics as well traits that are deeply rooted inside of them. Through story time and an art project, they will reflect on living in a world that is full of diversity.

Nadia Pardesi is an elementary school teacher with over ten years of experience. She currently teaches at Francis W. Parker School, an independent school in Chicago where she is also a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator and a Students of Color Affinity Group Facilitator. She is devoted to creating anti-bias curriculum and takes pride in cultivating culturally responsive classrooms. She has her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and her bachelor’s in Political Science. Nadia is a proud mama of twins and is originally from the Washington, DC area.

A percentage of proceeds from this class will go to Ladies of Virtue. Launched in 2011, Ladies of Virtue (LOV) is an award winning mentoring and leadership development program for girls.
