Nicole Gibbons on The Mentor Files Podcast with Monica Royer

Welcome to Season III of The Mentor Files!

In 2017, Nicole Gibbons was helping a close friend select a paint color for her home when she was reminded of the struggle that many homeowners experience when trying to choose a paint color online. In that moment, Nicole decided this was a problem she was going to try and solve and immediately began laying the groundwork for CLARE, a direct to consumer paint company which launched just eighteen months later in 2018.

Today, CLARE makes it easy for homeowners to choose and purchase paint online by offering a curated selection of beautiful colors, offering swatches for delivery and providing everything you need for your paint project in one box.

If running her own company isn't enough, Nicole is also an interior designer and Emmy Award winning TV Personality. As a highly sought after expert, Nicole has been featured in top media outlets such as HGTV, TLC, The Rachael Ray Show, InStyle, House Beautiful, Martha Stewart Living, Real Simple, Better Homes & Gardens, Good Housekeeping, Apartment Therapy, Domino, People Magazine, Elle Decor and more. She has also collaborated on special projects with top home and lifestyle brands including Lowe’s Home Improvement, American Express, GODIVA, Target, One Kings Lane & Pier 1 Imports.

In this episode, Nicole walks us through her life as an entrepreneur, including the good and the bad, and the things that she's most proud of. Listen in to learn how Nicole went from medical school to PR pro to entrepreneur, and to hear the one thing she wishes she knew before she started her business.
